Shangkai Gao graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering of Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 1970, and received the M.E. degree of biomedicalengineering in 1982 in same department of Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. She has been working in Tsinghua University since 1970. She is currently a professor of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, and the director of the Institute of Neural Engineering of the Institutes of Biomedicine, Tsinghua University.
Her research interests include biomedical signal and image processing, especially the study of brain-computer interface and medical ultrasound. She has been elected as IEEE Fellow in 2007 for her contributions to the study of brain-computer interface. She is now the associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering and IEEE Transactions on Neural System and Rehabilitation Engineering, also the editorial board member of Physiological Measurement and Journal of Neural Engineering and so on.
Xiaorong Gao was born in Beijing, China, in 1963. He received the B.S. degree in biomedical engineering from Zhejiang University in 1986, the M.S. degree in biomedical engineering from Peking Union Medical College in 1989, and the Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering from Tsinghua University in 1992. He is currently a professor of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Tsinghua University. His current research interests are biomedical signal processing and medical instrumentation, especially the study of brain-computer interface

Bo Hong received his B.S. and Ph.D. degree of biomedical engineering
from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 1996 and 2001,
respectively. During the year 1999 to 2000, he received research
training of psychophysiology in the department of psychology, Chinese
University of Hong Kong. He has been a lecturer in Tsinghua University
since 2001. On his sabbatical leave from 2004 to 2005, he was a
visiting faculty in the department of biomedical engineering and the
center for neural engineering at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore,
USA. Since 2005, he has been associate professor with department of
Biomedical Engineering and Institute of Neural Engineering, School of
Medicine, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China.

Prof. Fusheng Yang has worked in the field of Electrical and Biomedical Engineering for more than 50 years and is now retired. He was formerly the Standing Council Member and Chairman of the Academic Committee of Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering (CSBME). His research interests fall mainly around: Biomedical Signal Processing, Brain and Neural Information Engineering and Medical Ultrasound.
